Hazel West Photography

Hello, and welcome to our blog! We, Gisele and Kristin, are Texas wedding and portrait photographers based in Houston. After our initial meeting all the way back in kindergarten, we have been inseparable since. We discovered photography together in high school yearbook, and we continued to pursue it throughout college and after, eventually realizing that our onetime hobby had blossomed into a career. We consider it a privilege to capture the moments, events, loved ones, and memories in people’s lives, as we know that the photographs we give you will tell invaluable stories to your family for years to come. From weddings, to babies, to family portraits, and pets, we love what we do - and you can see that in our work!

We are members of Professional Photographers of America, which you can find at www.ppa.com.  We use the highest quality professional equipment, and our style is modern, simple, beautiful, and timeless. The secret to our work is our own practiced blend of photojournalism, art, and a way with people. Contact us today at info@hazelwestphotography.com, and thanks for checking out our site!

Ashley and Travis – the Engagement!

Last Tuesday (and perhaps one of the most beautiful days this month) we shot Ashley and Travis’ engagement session at the Dallas Arboretum, and we had an incredible time! It’s tulip season at the Arboretum, making it a tad incredibly more crowded than usual, but these two were good sports and toured the whole place with us. Springtime engagement sessions are a wonderful excuse to be outdoors for a couple of hours, and I think the four of us enjoyed the opportunity. Ashley and Travis were so sweet and even offered to carry our bags for us (unacceptable, but so thoughtful!) We’re excited about their wedding. You’ll notice that Ashley’s adorable Chihuahua-Yorkie mix puppy came along as well, and wow, what a well-behaved cutie. Thanks again, you two!

Whitney and Clayton – the Ceremony!

Here is a preview of Whitney and Clayton’s beautiful wedding at the Old Red Museum in Dallas. We enjoyed working with these two the whole way through – engagements, bridals, and now the wedding – and it was a little sad for us at the end of the day when the whole thing was over. Both Whitney and Clayton’s families were wonderful to work with, and the whole day was enjoyable. Whitney and Clayton looked so happy to be together. And on a side note, we adore the black and white tile floor with all the gorgeous red flowers Whitney had chosen. Here it is – Whitney & Clay’s wedding!

Whitney and Clayton – the Celebration!

After the ceremony, the celebration continued in a beautiful window-lined room at the Museum, where everyone enjoyed good food, dancing, and a several tear-jerker toasts (in my opinion!) We have so many great pictures from the evening, and these are just a small representation. They give a peek into what a great time everyone had – take a look!
